Brain Benefits of Cardio (Women’s Health Magazine)

University of Iowa’s research team recently evaluated 100 studies and found that cardio and strength training both give you a “brain boost”, but each has different benefits:

strength training takes a lot of focus- focus on the exercise, using the proper form, keeping track of repetitions. It is now thought that the focus you use during these workouts will carryover into other areas of your life

cardio takes long and constant effort- which scientists now believe will help with “your cognitive ability to carry out multiple tasks for long periods of time and stick to plans”
