There’s a difference between a want, a dream and a goal.
One can easily turn into the next by taking the appropriate steps.
You can’t achieve wants or dreams..but you can accomplish your goals.
So how do you move from one to the next?
Let’s talk about how to accomplish your goals.
First, they need to be motivating for YOU.
If it’s a goal of your husband, kid, mother-in-law…you are less likely to accomplish it because YOU are not motivated by it.
So take out a pen and paper and start brainstorming.
A bucket list of sorts.
After you have some ideas or dreams…now they need to be converted into goals.
They need to be S.M.A.R.T.
and have a
basically, the who, what, when, where, why and how.
And it’s important that you write them down. This is a key step in how to accomplish your goals. There is something to be said about literally writing out your goals- not typing them, not recording them as a YouTube video or just having the min your head…legit write them down.
After you’ve done all this- you can categorize them based on time- 1 month, 6 months, 3 years, 10 years, etc.
Then reward yourself! Give yourself something to look forward to. And make your rewards specific and attach a reward to each of your goals.
